Fire Restrictions in Place at Mount Hood National Forest

The U.S. Forest Service has issued fire restrictions for the Mount Hood National Forest.  The restrictions ban all campfires, smoking and operating certain equipment in non-designated areas.  And it bans motorcycles and ATV’s from National Forest system trails all until mid-October. Visitors can still have fires inside fire rings in designated developed recreation sites but the Forest Service is asking campers to keep campfires small and very vigilant.  Last week the Governor declared a state of emergency due to wildfires across Oregon.
