Death of cattle blamed on blue-green algae

Blue-green algae in a private body of water in Lake County is being blamed for killing 29 head of cattle.
According to a report in the Lake County Examiner, Lake County health officials say there’s no concern that the algae could spread to other bodies of water.
Heavy snow led to a lot of runoff, which could have led to the water being infected with algae spores, and health officials are monitoring other bodies of water in the county to see if there are any algae blooms.
