Klamath Falls, Ore.– Six homes have burned… along with 14 outbuildings, as the Moccasin fire spread quickly through a section of Sprague River. Fire fighters worked through the night trying to control a 29-hundred acre wildfire. Erica Hupp with the South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership says they’re focusing on attacking the fire from the air in order to keep crews out of the path of a dangerous, unpredictable fire. She said there are also concerns about local residents trying to get a look at the fire.
“A lot of people want to come and look at things, and we’re asking people to not come to this area. That would help us greatly.,” Hupp said.
The fire is burning on private land about four miles north of Klamath Falls. The Red Cross has established an emergency shelter at the Sprague River Community Center.
