Klamath Falls, Ore.– California’s new minimum wage went into effect yesterday. There are a few exceptions, but most workers in California now must be paid a minimum of 9-dollars per hour. That’s just the first step in an effort to increase workers’ wages. In 18-months, the rate goes up to 10-dollars an hour. The Federal minimum wage is 7-25 an hour, while Oregon upped its minimum wage to 9-10 an hour at the beginning of the year.
