More Charges Filed in Operation Gold Card


Klamath Falls, Ore.– More charges have been filed in connection with Operation Gold Card, the sweeping investigation into a food stamp fraud ring that was based out of Klamath County. A grand jury handed down additional indictments this week against the three ring-leaders of the of the scam. Jose Moreno-Hernandez, Rafael Oretega-Vargas, and Severo Toro-Castellon are accused of buying Oregon Trail Cards for fifty cents on the dollar, and used their Taco Stand on Oregon avenue to launder the money, and are also accused of selling methamphetamine through a meat market. All three men are being held on bail.
