Oregon Leads the Nation in Seatbelt Use

Klamath Falls, Ore.– The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ranks Oregon as the number one state in the country when it comes to buckling up. Surveys show more than 98-percent of Oregonians wear a restraint in the car. Numbers show fewer people are dying in car wrecks due to not wearing a seatbelt. In 2012, 31-percent of vehicle fatalities were not wearing a seatbelt… that’s down from 44-percent in 20-11.
