Klamath Falls Gems Announce 2014 Baseball Roster

KLAMATH FALLS , Ore – The Klamath Falls Gems have released their 2014 baseball roster ahead of the season opener, June 5th at Kiger Stadium, versus the Medford Rogues.

Coaches Mitch Karraker, Brett Hambright, and JJ Altobelli have assembled a talented roster.

Juliene Jones played the 2014 college season with the University of Hawaii, picking up three saves in 14 games pitched. He previously pitched for Sacramento City College. His brother Jonathon plays in the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

Josh Banuelos, a 6’2” redshirt junior first baseman at Fresno Pacific, hit .378 this past season. He spent two years at Fresno City College where he earned first team all-conference honors in 2011. 

Steven Packard, a 6’1″ outfielder, hit .259 in 33 games for the University of Oregon this past spring. In 2010 for the Ducks he hit .333 with two home runs, before leaving on a two year Mormon mission.

The Gems have also added three players familiar to Klamath Basin sports fans – Klamath Union alumni Kody Kuhlman and Jake Whisler, alongside Oregon Tech sophomore Ethan Schlecht.
