Second Arrest in Counterfeit Scheme



Klamath Falls, Ore.– A second person has been arrested in connection with counterfeit bills being passed at a local convenience store. According to a press release, Oregon State Police and Klamath Falls Police went to the Cimarron Motel Inn on South Sixth Street to contact a man suspected of being connected to counterfeit bills found when a woman was arrested earlier this month. When they arrived at the hotel, the found 36-year old Vernon Edward Schaeffer in the process of making fake twenty, fifty, and hundred dollar bills. Schaeffer was charged with forty different counts related to the forgery, as well as a drug possession charge.
