OSP Investigates Counterfeit Money

Klamath Falls, Ore.– A Klamath Falls woman was arrested Tuesday night during a traffic stop, when a state trooper found counterfeit $20 bills in her purse, along with some meth. 30-year old Stephanie Vigil was stopped while driving along Boardman Avenue. A drug dog alerted officers to potential narcotics in the vehicle, which led to a search and the discovery of several sheets of printed paper, on which were printed 62 fake $20 bills. Lieutenant Jason Westfall with the Oregon State Police says they’re investigating to see if there’s a bigger counterfeit connection bringing fake cash to the Basin. He said they have had occasional reports of fake bills showing up at businesses, but nothing recently. Westfall says additional arrests are possible
