Alturas Shooting: Hearing Continued

Alturas, Calif.– The former tribal leader from Modoc County who is accused of shooting and killing four people and trying to kill two others… wore a bullet-proof vest to a court hearing today. Cherie Lash Rhoades’s defense attorney requested that the hearing be continued until Monday, which the judge granted. Rhoades could face the death penalty if convicted. The shootings occurred during an eviction hearing after Rhoades was accused of improperly handling tribal funds.
