While Oregon is in the midst of a drought, other parts of the country have been crippled by winter weather. That’s led to fewer donations of blood due to the cancellation of Red Cross Blood Drives across the United States. Jen Collins Watson with the American Red Cross says the organization is in Winter Storm Recovery mode right now, and they need the community’s help to shore up supplies.
Several blood drives are being held in the area over the next week, and Watson says they need more businesses and organizations to host drives. You can find out more about a drive near you and make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
