Oregon Health Authority says influenza activity has gone from moderate to high

SALEM, Ore. — The Oregon Health Authority say new statistics show that influenza activity edged up last week from moderate to high in what they’re saying is one of the
worst seasons in at least a few years.

87 patients were hospitalized because of the flu, and at least nine people with confirmed influenza cases have died this season in Oregon, though influenza cannot be confirmed as the official cause of death.

Oregon’s flu season looks to be worse than in Washington or California, but not as bad as Idaho and Nevada are seeing.
