Oregon ranks 40th among the states for academic achievement, may be even lower

SALEM, Ore. — Oregon ranks No. 40 among the states for academic achievement, according to a new study, but our state may rank even lower.

The large part of study was measured by student reading and math scores on exams given to a sample of students in all states.

Another study, that educators believe is more accurate because it tracks graduation rates, says Oregon has the fourth-worst rate in the nation, including the lowest in the nation for white students.
