Oregon Tech basketball sweeps conference-opening weekend

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Kyle Waits scored the first 16 points of the second half and finished with a game-best 24 points and 15 rebounds as Oregon Tech defeated No. 13 Concordia 93-88 to end the first weekend of Cascade Collegiate Conference basketball at Danny Miles Court.

Josh Johnson made three three-pointers in a two-minute span late in the second half to take the Hustlin’ Owls from a one-point deficit to an 83-78 lead. Johnson finished with 19 points, Duncan Schramm added 15 points and Brandon Bautista scored 11 points with seven assists. 

Adam Herman led Concordia with 20 points.

The Oregon Tech Lady Owls are now 12-0 on the season after a 78-59 defeat of Concordia on Saturday. Karly LeVeque scored 16 points to lead all scorers, followed by Ashleigh Vanderbrink’s 14 points.
