HS Wrap: Henley girls eliminated in shootout; KU girls, Henley boys advance

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Henley girls soccer team is out of the OSAA 4A State Championship after a 2-1 opening round, shootout loss to Brookings-Harbor in Klamath Falls yesterday.

Britanny Kochenderfer scored Henley’s first half goal.

The Hornets season ends with a 10-4-1 record.

Klamath Union 2, Sisters 1 (Shootout)

SISTERS, Ore. — After Sisters missed its sixth shootout try, Klamath Union’s Kylee Souders made hers to send the Pelicans to a 2-1 first round victory and a spot in the quarterfinals.

Klamath Union scored early in the game on a goal from Jessica Bocchi on an assist by Tori Dykstra.

KU plays at North Bend on Saturday. North Bend beat McLouglin-Weston-McEwen 7-0. 

Henley 4, Newport 2

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Henley was also the Skyline’s No. 1 seed on the boys side, winning 4-2 over Newport in the playoffs opening round.

James Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Lake Peterson and Christian Ramirez scored the goals for Henley, which had trailed 1-0.

The fifth-seeded Hornets play at No. 4 La Salle on Saturday at 1 p.m.
