Oregon Tech starts its women’s basketball season this weekend

Four road games in nine days, including two against NCAA opponents, is how the 2013-14 women’s basketball schedule begins for Oregon Tech.

The Owls open play at Humboldt State on Saturday before resting nearly a week and then playing three games in four days, ending with an exhibition against the University of Oregon on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.

Oregon Tech was 23-9 last season, including a 13-5 mark in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. In this season’s conference pre-season poll, Oregon Tech was selected to finish third and had senior guard Karissa Dixon picked as pre-season player of the year.

The early stretch includes games at Holy Names and UC-Merced on Nov. 1-2. OIT plays in the William Jessup Tournament on Nov. 8-9 before the team’s first home game against Simpson on Nov. 12.
