HS Football Preview: Mazama takes perfect record to Henley

Football in Mid-Air

In his first season as Mazama Vikings football head coach, Vic Lease has taken his team to a 3-0 Skyline Conference record. Tonight will be Lease’s first shot at a cross-town Skyline rivalry game.

The Vikings travel to the Henley Hornets, with the winner getting a leg-up on the race to the conference’s number one seed. Henley (2-1) also has a first-year head coach, Wayne Amos, but he was the former coach of Klamath Union, a team that Amos has faced already this season in his return to coaching. The Hornets lost 27-14.

With a win, either team virtually locks in a postseason spot, but Mazama has a chance to win a fifth straight and guarantee at least a share of the Skyline Conference championship.
