KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Fremont-Winema National Forest is currently allowing people to cut and gather firewood at Cottonwood Campground until the firewood is gone or
inaccessible because of snow.

You must have a valid Fremont-Winema National Forest personal-use firewood permit before you head out, and you can only cut or take downed logs and trees.

All slash created from firewood cutting and gathering activities, including limbs and tops, have to be piled away from standing trees and camp sites.
