SALEM, Ore. — The Justice Department is not going to press charges after a six-month probe into the Oregon Employment Department and its IT division.

A software project that cost up to $4 million more than budgeted was the focus of the probe.

The Identity and Access Management project was supposed to assist the Employment Department computer systems, and the first point of contact for about 100,000 businesses filing payroll tax information.
