Grape harvest for winemakers underway

ROSEBURG, Ore — Winemakers in Southern Oregon are facing one of the earliest harvests in years.

The early harvest has vintners working for next few weeks before the birds, bugs and other wildlife threaten the crops.

The biggest danger farmers are dealing with is that the grapes could mold, and mildews like noble rot, which can wipe out an entire vintage, or even a vineyard.
