Oregon woman born without birth certificate gets licenses after four month struggle

GOLD HILL, Ore. — The 94 year old woman that couldn’t get her driver’s license because she never had a birth certificate now has her license.

It took four months for Gold Hill resident Helen Mary Thomas to get her license because when she was born in Tennesee, she wasn’t issued a birth certificate.

Transportation officials gave her a temporary at first, then used Census reports from the 30′s and 40′s, state voter registration records and her old driver’s license to prove her citizenship.
