TWIN FALLS, Id. –Chobani Greek-style yogurt has been pulled off store shelves in Oregon and across the country after customer complaints about bloated containers, bad taste and people getting sick.
The company contacted stores on Friday telling them to pull 15 flavors. It did not issue a formal recall, but instead has been responding to customer complaints via its Facebook page, asking people to email the company.
A spokesperson for Chobani says the cause was a type of mold that’s commonly found in the dairy environment.
Reportedly only 5 percent of the company’s yogurt has been contaminated with the mold, and that all of the bad containers were produced at its plant in Twin Falls, Idaho.
