Klamath Falls man to receive Prisoner of War Medal and two Purple Hearts in ceremony this Friday

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A Klamath Falls man will be honored this Friday with the Prisoner of War Medal and two Purple Hearts.

Ernie Brace will be appointed the medals at Kingsley Field at 2pm., and will mark the 62nd anniversary of Brace’s commission as a second lieutenant with the United States Marine Corps on August 16th, 1951.

Brace is documented being the longest held civilian prisoner of war during Vietnam.

He was held as a POW for seven years, ten months and seven days.
