Oregon’s Governor and 2 Senators visit Douglas Complex fire area

Gov. Kitzhaber and U.S. Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley were in Glendale over the weekend for a briefing on the nearly 35,000-acre Douglas Complex fire.

It’s the largest of several lightning-caused fires burning across Southern Oregon, and the number one fire of concern nationally.

Kitzhaber said that hot, dry conditions this year are setting the stage for a long and busy fire season that he says is on track to be Oregon’s worst in more than 10 years.
