Klamath Falls power show takes Gems to series win over Victoria

VICTORIA, British Columbia — A grand slam by Adam Daymude paced a five RBI night for the Gems catcher as Klamath Falls took their second straight win over the Victoria HarbourCats 11-6 on Thursday night at Royal Athletic Park.

Cam Newell stroked two doubles as part of a four hit night for Klamath Falls, which improved to 23-22 and remain five games from a playoff berth in the South Division with nine games left in the 2013 season.

Nick Sabo (6-2) won his second straight game and West Coast League leading sixth win of the year in eight strong innings. Joe Navilhon (3-5) lost his third straight game. Victoria is 4.5 games back from a playoff berth with a 19-25 record and fourth place in the North Division

Gems next play at home on Saturday, opening a three-game series with Kitsap (6 p.m. – 960 the Sports Legend).
