Kitsap avoids sweep by Gems



BREMERTON, Wash. — The Klamath Falls Gems failed to complete a sweep of the Kitsap BlueJackets on Monday night, falling 5-1 in the series finale. The BlueJackets snapped Klamath Falls’ four-game winning streak and moved the Gems five games out of playoff contention in the West Coast League’s South Division.

Adam Daymude brought in Klamath Falls’ only run, singling in Cody Hough in the seventh innings. Devin Smith (3-4) picked up the win, while Scott Burke (0-3) absorbed the loss for the Gems.

Klamath Falls opens a three-game series with Victoria on Tuesday night (6:30 p.m. – 960 the Sports Legend).
