Fire grows to 13,400 acres in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — A 13,400 acre fire in Douglas county that was caused by lightning is so big that satellite pictures show that smoke from the fire is reaching as far as

75 homes have been evacuated because of the Douglas Complex fires.

The Oregon State Fire Marshall’s Office has invoked the Conflagration Act which means structural firefighting resources have been brought in from across Oregon to help protect homes in this area.

The residents were told to leave their  homes on Saturday because of the impending blaze. So far, no houses have been lost.
