Power saws banned in local forests

Trees Burning in Forest Fire

The Oregon Department of Forestry has issued a ban in light of the dry conditions in the Fremont-Winema National Forest, and other local forest areas.

As of this week personal and commercial woodcutters are prohibited from operating power saws in the forest.

This includes the Fremont-Winema National Forest, BLM’s Lakeview District and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Sheldon-Hart Mountain National Wildlife Complex and Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge.
