Local Little League softball team plays for state title

SCAPPOOSE, Ore. — The Klamath Falls Little League 9-10-year-old softball team is in the state tournament championship game after a 3-1 victory over Tigard on Monday night.

The team will face La Grande in the state title game at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night. State is the highest level of competition in which the 9-10-year-old group can compete.

Numerous Basin-area Little League teams have already played or will be playing in state tournaments this month, including the 11-12-year-old softball team, which was eliminated in Scappoose on Sunday.
