Victoria shuts down Gems to take series

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Klamath Falls Gems were shut out by the Victoria HarbourCats on Sunday, losing 6-0 as Bryan Conant (3-1) pitched a complete game at Kiger Stadium. It marked the second time all season the Gems have been shut out, as they mustered only four hits all afternoon.

Nick Sabo (4-1) took his first loss for Klamath Falls, pitching six innings. 

L.J. Brewster was the only Gems player with more than one hit, as Klamath Falls (15-17) lost its second straight. The Gems remain in fourth place in the West Coast League’s South Division, five games back of first place Bend. Victoria (15-13) is now in third place in the North Division.

The teams close out the series at 6:35 p.m. on Monday at Kiger Stadium (6 p.m. – 960 the Sports Legend). The Gems also play at home on Wednesday and Thursday before traveling for nine of the next 11 games after that.
