The Oregon Forest Service is reminding everyone that exploding targets are now outlawed on forest lands as of earlier this week.

Exploding targets cause wildfires, and have been associated with at least five wildfires on National Forest System lands since 2012.

Those fires which burned more than 15,000 acres and added up to $30 million in the cost to fight them.
