EUGENE, Ore. — An Arizona man that was hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Oregon to California was rescued last week after he became stranded for four days in a snowstorm in the Cascade Mountains.

57 year old Rip Stouffer was cold but uninjured when rescuers found him late Thursday.

Stouffer had been planning to hike by himself from Oregon to California until the storm forced him to stay sheltered in his tent until his rescue. Stouffer called to be rescued on his cell phone.
