Gems pound out season-high 13 runs against Walla Walla

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — The Klamath Falls Gems offense scored runs in the all three middle innings to back starter Skye Adams, as he allowed only two runs, helping the Gems defeat Walla Walla 13-7 Wednesday night at Kiger Stadium.

Sweets starter Jonathan Harris set down the first nine Gems batters, but the Gems offense came alive, scoring runs in four of the next five innings. Dempsey Grover drove in five runs, three on a fifth-inning home run, as the Gems totaled fifteen hits. Adams (1-0) earned the win for Klamath Falls and Harris (0-2) took the loss for Walla Walla (2-2). It was the Gems (3-1) third straight victory.
