Klamath Falls hosts two state baseball semis



The center of the 4A baseball world is Klamath Falls this afternoon as the Klamath Union Pelicans and Henley Hornets both host the OSAA State Championships semifinals. 

It’s a two-destination doubleheader starting with Klamath Union hosting Newport at 2 p.m. at Steen Sports Park (960 the Sports Legend). The two teams have scored 25 runs apiece in their first two victories, while limiting opponents to a combined seven runs.

Henley is back in the semis for the second-straight year. The Hornets won 8-7 in the state quarterfinals over Hidden Valley.

Sisters comes in with a 4A-best 22 wins and has scored the most runs in a postseason game by beating Astoria 17-4. The two play at 4:30 p.m. at Henley High School.

Winners move on the to state title game Saturday at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
