The Parks sisters of Lost River are expected to shine this weekend at the 2A Southern Cascade League District Track & Field meet.
In the 800 meters, the older Megan Parks has the second-best time in the state at the 2A level, while the younger Emily is third among the state’s 400-meter times and fifth in the 200. She’s also tied for the best time in the 300-meter hurdles.
Their teammate Katie Ingram has the state’s second-best pole vault mark. Bonanza’s Hannah Foster is in the top 6 in the 100 meters.
On the boys side, the Raiders’ 400-relay team has posted the second-fastest time this season.
The meet starts Saturday at 11 a.m. on Oregon Tech’s campus.
1A District Meet
Triad’s Gabe Ovgard is still the state’s fastest 1A sprinter in the 100- and 200-meter and is the state’s best long jumper. His teammate Sarah Estabrook is a long-distance favorite, having the state’s fastest 3,000- and second fastest 1,500-meter times.
Hosanna Christian’s Ryan Lockwood is top 4 in the 100-meter. He’s also part of the 100-relay team which is third-fastest this year.
Elana Hampton is the state’s best in both hurdling events this year.
