SALEM, Ore. — Less people are foreclosing on their homes according to the latest statistics on home sales in Oregon.

It’s the first time in months that that trend has moved in a positive direction for homeowners.

Foreclosure filings fell 21 percent from March and 29 percent compared with numbers reported a year ago. The decline may mean that foreclosures are beginning to level off.
