Almost 100 chickens die inside Coquille feed store

COQUILLE, Ore. — A weekend fire at a Coquille feed store killed between 75 and 100 chickens. Employees believe the devices used to warm baby chickens may have caused the fire at the Milk-E-Way Feed and Trucking store Saturday night. The fire is still under investigation. The fire burned inside the store but left the storage areas untouched. The store reopened to customers Sunday and sold items that weren’t damaged in the fire.
