CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — After leading authorities on a chase in a stolen pick-up, Jackson County officers have arrested two men.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Andrea Carlson says a deputy tried to stop the driver early Monday after seeing him ignore a stop sign. Spike strips were used at several intersections before the front tire finally deflated at Table Rock Road.

Even with the flat tire, the pickup continued to Interstate 5. The driver eventually lost control and the vehicle went into a ditch.

Carlson says the passenger, 19-year-old Blake Wallace of Medford, was immediately arrested while a police dog named Chucky found the driver, 22-year-old Rodney Gorneau, hiding in bushes.

Carlson says the pickup was stolen from a Medford dealership. Both men were booked into the county jail.
