HS Baseball: Henley moves to top of Skyline

Henley took the opener of last Saturday’s doubleheader with Klamath Union to move to the top of the Skyline Conference standings just past the halfway point of the regular season. The Hornets won 8-2 in the first game before losing 14-12 in a nine inning game.

Henley moved to 7-2 in conference play, with its only losses coming to Klamath Union (6-3), which now has a 2-1 tie-breaking record against the Hornets this season.

Mazama was swept by Hidden Valley (6-3) to fall to 1-8 on the year. North Valley won both against Phoenix to improve to 6-3 as well.

Lakeview beat Illinois Valley 1-0 and 4-1 and sits in the middle of the 3A Southern Cascade League standings at 3-3 on the year, following Cascade Christian and St. Mary’s of Medford.

At the 2A/1A level, Bonanza, North Lake and Gold Beach are in a three-way tie atop the league. Bonanza swept Myrtle Point over the weekend. Lost River is 2-6 in conference.
