KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- Infamous wolf OR-7 has been tracked in the Greensprings area east of Ashland this week. This is the farthest west he’s been since he wandered out of Northeastern Oregon in September to find a mate. The wolf’s GPS found him on Thursday morning in the mountains southwest of Hyatt Lake after he was tracked northeast of the lake on Wednesday, according to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Michelle Dennehy, ODFW’s spokeswoman say’s he’s been in the area about a week now. OR-7 has been running around in Jackson County doing what biologists call “dispersal” activity, which means he’s looking for a mate and new territory.
