KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — After a 9-1 victory in the opener of the doubleheader against Eastern Oregon Friday, Oregon Tech softball’s Taylor Schmidt hit a walk-off homer in an 8-7 second game win to help the Owls to a sweep.
On Saturday, OIT parlayed the weekend with a sweep of College of Idaho, winning 4-3 and 9-4 in the doubleheader. Jess Plummer hit Tech’s second consecutive walk-off home run in game one and Rylee Carleton won both games in the circle.
The wins improved OIT’s conference record to 14-4, still behind 13-1 Corban atop the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Tech leads third-place Concordia by four games in the win column. The Owls play at Concordia as part of a weekend trip north where they also face Northwest.

The Oregon Tech baseball team helped their chances for an NAIA West postseason bid by winning three of four from College of Idaho over the last weekend.
Ethan Schlecht went 2-for-3 in the 9-3 second game win on Sunday after Oregon Tech won 8-1 in the opener. Schlecht also had an RBI in the Saturday doubleheader – a 10-4 win by the Owls and a 10-2 loss.
The three wins moved the Owls within two games of Concordia and COI for the final playoff spot with eight conference contests remaining. OIT plays a non-league series at Central Washington this weekend.
