Pac-12 Baseball: Ducks sweep Washington

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Oregon State’s Danny Hayes scored the first two runs of the game before the University of San Diego opened up its offense to win the series finale against the Beavers 13-3 on Saturday to take the series from No. 2 OSU.

The loss pushed Oregon State’s record to 22-4 overall. The Beavers host Portland tomorrow on 960 the Sports Legend Radio.

Oregon Ducks

Freshman Cole Irvin pitched a complete game shutout to lead No. 12 Oregon to a 6-0 win over Washington on Saturday night at PK Park, helping the Ducks complete a sweep over UW. Irvin tossed the first complete game of the season by the Ducks allowing just four hits, while striking out a season-high 11 and walking just one. He only allowed two runners past first base, none after the fifth inning.

Ryon Healy went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

The victory also made Oregon undefeated in football, men’s basketball and baseball against the Huskies in 2012-2013 and also moved the Ducks to 8-1 in the Pac-12, three games ahead of Oregon State in the win column. UCLA is 6-3 and Cal is 5-4.

Oregon is idle until Friday when the Ducks open a series at Arizona State.
