KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – During Monday’s Goofing Around at Lunch, 960 the Sports Legend announced the MyBasin.com Student-Athletes of the Month for February 2013.

Klamath Union’s Tee Nguyen and Lost River’s Lexie Turner were selected and will receive a certificate and an invitation to appear on the Basin’s live, local sports talk show, Goofing Around at Lunch.

In February, Nguyen won the Southern Oregon Regional Wrestling Meet at 138 pounds, eventually qualifying as the third seed in the OSAA Wrestling State Championships. He made the honor roll during the latest quarter at Klamath Union High School.

Turner is the point guard for Lost River’s No. 1-ranked girls basketball team, which entered March as the top-ranked team in the state. Turner and Lost River carried a hot start into February, winning on Feb. 5 against Rogue River to improve to 21-1 on the season. Turner also received 785 votes in the Facebook Fan Vote.

Tulelake girls basketball player Rosario Jaime and Mazama wrestler Rowdey Wells were our Facebook Fan Vote winners and will receive a Fans’ Choice certificate.

The Student-Athletes of the Month are selected by 960 the Sports Legend from nominations by the community, athletic directors and/or knowledge of athletic achievements, as well as votes from the Facebook Fan Vote. Please send nominations for your selection to sports@mybasin.com or post it on Facebook.
