SALEM, Ore. — The wolf known as OR-7 is back in the state of Oregon.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife announced he returned from California Tuesday evening. ODFW says the wolf continues to search for a mate and was to the west of Highway 395.
He moved from Oregon to California in December 2011, and while the California Fish and Game was supplying daily updates on OR-7’s status, the ODFW won’t as wolves are protected by the state’s Endangered Species Act.
