Hosanna Christian boys face familiar foe without familiar player

OSAA Basketball

The Hosanna Christian Lions gets to work this afternoon at the OSAA 1A Boys Basketball State Championships, facing the Imbler Panthers (3 p.m. – 960 the Sports Legend – Radio only).

The Lions are familiar with their opponent today, having lost to Imbler in the OSAA second round last season to miss a chance to play at Baker. This year, Hosanna defeated Sherman 80-64 in that same round to make the final eight teams, but also lost a key player for today’s game after senior Garrett Martin was suspended for a game in an altercation at the end of the Sherman contest.

Hosanna Christian head coach Kevin Bigby says Martin is remorseful and looking forward to returning to the team after the quarterfinal match-up to day. Bigby on what Martin brings to his team.
