Basketball Preview: OIT looks for national tourney bid

The Oregon Tech Lady Owls could seal a bid to the NAIA Div. II Women’s Basketball National Championship tournament with a win in Friday night’s Cascade Collegiate Conference semifinals at the College of Idaho (5:30 p.m. – 92-5 KLAD).

OIT needs a win and have Eastern Oregon win its semi against Southern Oregon. If things go that way, it’d be the Lady Owls second-ever appearance at the NAIA tourney.

But OIT hasn’t had much success against COI, having lost 12 in a row before this season when the Lady Owls won 61-58 in Klamath Falls before losing 60-44 in Idaho. The College of Idaho ended OIT’s season in the 2009 CCC Tournament with a 63-41 win at Caldwell.

The game starts at 6 p.m.

The Lakeview boys open in the 3A state tournament at top seed Horizon Christian.
