The OSAA Wrestling State Championships begin on Friday and Lakeview is well-represented at the 3A level. Honkers coach Greg Kelley is impressed with his squad entering the tournament.

High School Basketball

Emily Vanover scored 24 points to help Triad defeat Adrian 46-31 in the opening round of the 1A OSAA Girls Basketball State Championships. Triad overcame a 24-22 deficit entering the final period to advance to the second round Saturday at City Christian in Portland.

Coaching Changes

There’s been a change in the men’s basketball coaching position at Northwest Christian University. After four years as head coach, athletic director Corey Anderson steps down and is replaced by former Oregon star Luke Jackson.

Jackson has not been a program head coach, but has extensive background coaching in basketball camps. He becomes the tenth head coach in program history.

Locally, the Herald and News reports Jim Lockwood has resigned as head football coach at Hosanna Christian after two seasons.
