Holland leads Triad boys to OSAA first round win

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Triad used 35 points from Thomas Holland en route to a 77-69 victory over Umpqua Valley Christian Tuesday night in the first round of the 1A OSAA Boys Basketball State Championships. Holland scored six three-pointers to help the Timberwolves to a 21-point third quarter lead before UVC closed the gap in the fourth.

In the end, Triad won by eight points. Young says his team hadn’t been so successful in similar games this year.

Triad’s second round game will be Friday against another first round winner.

Triad Girls Basketball Opens State Playoffs Tonight

The Triad girls get started in the 1A playoffs Wednesday night at home hosting Adrian at 6:30 p.m.

Triad won six of its last seven games regular season games, while Adrian is 19-9 this season after splitting its last four games.
