The talk of a tobacco ban in city parks will be smoking during Tuesday night’s Klamath Falls City Council meeting.
NBC-2 reports the proposed ordinance is a revised version of one that went before the council in October. Community Development Director Sandra Fox told the station they’re proposing to place signs near playgrounds and picnic areas and hope peer pressure will influence people’s decisions.
Still, for repeat offenders, a $250 fine could be issued.
The first reading of the ordinance will be in Tuesday night’s meeting.
