MERLIN, Ore. — After both Klamath Union basketball teams finished in ties for second, they’ll play in Skyline Conference seeding games on Saturday.
The Klamath Union, Phoenix and Henley girls all entered Friday night tied for second place in the Skyline. KU beat North Valley 52-44 and Phoenix routed Hidden Valley 57-14. Since Henley lost to Mazama 57-24, Klamath Union will play at Phoenix Saturday at 6 p.m. The winner receives the second seed and a first-round bye in next week’s conference tournament.
Mazama, which had already won the conference title entering the week, finished 10-0 in the Skyline and won its 17th straight game.

After playing North Valley to its only single-digit margin of victory in conference play, KU nearly did it again, leading 36-33 at halftime. However, North Valley pulled away in the second half to seal a 69-57 win and finish the regular season undefeated at 21-0.
Klamath Union, which entered Friday night in sole possession of second place, ended the night tied with Henley after its 61-38 win over Mazama. Now, Klamath Union will host Henley on Saturday night at Pelican Court with the winner getting the second seed in the Skyline Conference playoffs.
